The Riverdale Centre was started up in 2003. It was initially located in the original Doctor's House in Aviemore, from which it took its name. Later that year it moved to its current more central premises close to the railway station in Aviemore; it was then that the cafe was set up alongside the therapies and organic foods. In early 2008, a second centre was opened in Church Street, Inverness, to serve the needs of the Highland Capital.
Judith Marten, the director, has been involved in the complementary therapy scene for many years, having previously run a healing and retreat centre in nearby Findhorn for 20 years. She is a firm believer in the benefits of a holistic lifestyle, recognising the importance of taking personal responsibility for our health, looking after and nurturing our bodies, and eating the right foodstuffs. She hopes that the Riverdale Centre inspires its customers to a greater sense of well- being.
